Turn Any 2D Image into a 3D Printable STL File

Go from flat concept art or reference images to full volumetric 3D geometry—not just flat extrusion. Built-in part separation and instant browser-based STL export for your slicer.

From Flat Picture to Slicer-Ready STL in 3 Steps

Upload Reference Image

Upload character art, product sketches, or toy concepts as PNG, JPG, or WebP. Generation uses credits and returns a GLB you can rotate. For accurate back-side geometry, switch to Multiple Images to 3D to feed front, side, and back views.

Optional: Split into Printable Parts

Complex overhangs? Use Separate Parts to break your generated mesh into clean sub-components—ideal for multi-color printing and minimal support material.

Export Pure STL Geometry

Open the generated GLB in the GLB to STL converter or the full 3D converter to produce a clean .STL surface mesh in your browser, ready to scale and slice in Bambu Studio, PrusaSlicer, or UltiMaker Cura.

Frequently asked questions

Does this tool create a true 360° 3D model or just a flat relief extrusion?

Unlike basic heightmap converters that only extrude dark and light pixels into a flat coin, NovaGen3D uses neural 3D reconstruction to infer full 360-degree volumetric geometry from a single 2D image. The returned back and sides are inferred, so compare them with your design before printing.

Is the exported STL compatible with Bambu Studio and Cura?

Yes. After you convert the generated GLB to STL, the binary STL strips out non-printable shader textures and animation rigs, outputting pure triangle surface geometry (up to 1 million triangles) that loads directly into Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer, PrusaSlicer, and Cura.

How can I make complex AI-generated models easier to 3D print?

Before exporting to STL, run your model through our Separate Parts tool to isolate limbs, accessories, or bases. Printing parts separately improves bed adhesion and drastically reduces support scarring.
